Every cover-up is designed from scratch for that specific tattoo and that specific person. The consultation and quote are free.
When a cover-up makes sense
A cover-up works when you want to replace an old tattoo with a completely different motif. Light, faded or small tattoos (compared with the space available around them) give the most options. Very dark, dense or large pieces are harder to cover – the new design usually has to be bigger and darker than the old one.

How we approach a cover-up

- Free consultation and quoteWe assess what’s possible and talk through the motif, style and size.
- A design from scratchmade just for you, so it hides the old lines and looks good in its own right.
- Booking and sessionThe deposit is set individually (BLIK or cash), and you can reschedule no later than 3 days before the appointment.
Styles that work well for covering
Cover-ups often use styles with plenty of shading and darker areas, because they hide old lines more easily – for example black & grey or realism. Delicate fine lines usually cover an earlier tattoo less well. The final choice depends on the old tattoo and your idea – we’ll go through it at the consultation. Cover-up or refresh?
Not every old tattoo needs covering. If you still like the design and it has just faded or lost its sharpness, a refresh may be the better option. We explain the difference on our tattoo refresh page.
What to send for a quote
- photos of the old tattoo – sharp, in daylight, taken straight on (one close-up and one from further away helps),
- the size of the current tattoo in centimetres,
- the placement on your body,
- an idea for the new design or a few references – here’s how to prepare reference photos.

Not always. It depends on things like how dark and large the old tattoo is and how much space there is around it. We’ll assess it from photos or at the consultation.
