Piercing at SHADY TATTOO, Wieluń

Besides tattoos, we also offer piercing at SHADY TATTOO. Below you’ll find general information on preparation and healing. The details of your piercing are always decided by the person who performs it.
What piercings we offer
- ear piercing – the lobe and other parts of the ear, done with the STUDEX System75; see types of ear piercing,
- nose piercing – see nose piercing – types and healing,
- navel (belly button) piercing – see navel piercing – healing and preparation.
Aftercare for both: nose and navel piercing aftercare.
Ask when booking which placement and jewellery suit your anatomy – Martyna will advise you before the piercing.
Who does the piercing
Piercing is performed by Martyna, our studio manager – ear piercing (with the STUDEX System75), nose and navel piercing. The piercing photos in our portfolio are her work. Ask her about dates and details. Not sure which spot to choose? Read about the types of ear piercing.
Minimum age
In general, under Polish law a minor needs the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Jewellery
Fresh piercings are usually fitted with jewellery made of low-allergy materials, such as implant-grade titanium. A longer stud goes in first to leave room for swelling; it’s swapped for a shorter one after the swelling has gone down, ideally by a piercer.
How much does a piercing cost?
The cost depends on the type of piercing and the jewellery – ask when you book, by phone or on Instagram.
How to prepare
Before your visit
- eat a meal and get a good night’s sleep,
- don’t drink alcohol before the procedure,
- tell the person doing the piercing about any medical conditions, allergies (e.g. to metals) and medication, especially anything that affects blood clotting,
- don’t come with an infection, wound or skin irritation at the piercing site.
During the procedure
The site is disinfected and marked, and sterile, single-use needles are used.
Aftercare
Daily hygiene
- wash your hands before every time you touch the piercing,
- clean it with the product your piercer recommends, e.g. sterile saline,
- don’t remove the jewellery while it heals; handle it as your piercer instructs.
What to avoid
Swimming pools, saunas and open water; pressure on the piercing (e.g. sleeping on it or tight clothing); and cosmetics that irritate the skin.
How long healing takes
It depends on the placement: an earlobe usually heals in a few weeks, cartilage can take several months or longer, a nostril usually a few months, and a navel piercing around six months to a year, sometimes longer.
When to see a doctor
If pain, swelling or redness get worse, or you notice pus, fever or the jewellery starting to sink into the skin, contact a doctor. Only remove the jewellery if a doctor or piercer tells you to. For minor concerns, ask the person who did your piercing.
