Your first tattoo in Wieluń – a beginner’s guide
A first tattoo is exciting, but it also raises questions. This guide walks you through the whole process – from the idea to healed skin. The day-of-session checklist is on a separate page, how to prepare for a tattoo, and quick answers are in the FAQ.
Step 1: Idea and design
You should still like the design in a few years – let the idea “rest” for a while and treat inspirations as a starting point, not a finished design.
Step 2: Placement and size
Detail needs space – a realistic portrait that’s too small will lose clarity over time. Good first-tattoo spots include the forearm, upper arm or calf: you can see them yourself and they tend to handle the process relatively well. Make the final decision with your artist.
Step 3: Choosing a studio
Check the portfolio in the style you want, hygiene, reviews and how the studio talks to you.
Step 4: Consultation and quote
At the consultation we discuss the idea, placement, size and number of sessions. The price depends on the amount of work – see tattoo prices.
Does a first tattoo hurt?
It varies from person to person and depends on the placement and your sensitivity. It can feel like scratching or burning. A good night’s sleep, a meal beforehand and staying calm genuinely help – see the full pre-session checklist.
How long does a session take?
From about an hour for small designs to several hours for bigger projects; large pieces are split into several sessions.
After the session
You’ll get aftercare instructions. Read our aftercare guide. Still have questions? Check the FAQ.
If you have a chronic illness, take medication, are pregnant or have skin problems, consult a doctor and tell your artist before the session.
