How to prepare for a tattoo – pre-session checklist

A short checklist for the days before your session and the day itself. If you’re only just planning your first tattoo, start with our first tattoo guide. Quick answers are in the FAQ, and what to do afterwards is in the aftercare guide.
The day before
Get a good night’s sleep
A rested body copes better with the procedure.
Avoid alcohol
Alcohol can increase bleeding and make the work harder.
Look after your skin
Moisturise the area for a few days and avoid tanning and irritation. Don’t shave “in advance” – ask about skin preparation when you book.
On the day
- eat a proper meal,
- drink water; you can bring a snack and a drink,
- wear comfortable clothes that give easy access to the area being tattooed,
- bring an ID. We only tattoo adults. The studio may also refuse a session if there are health contraindications, visible wounds, skin infections or if the client is intoxicated.
Health and medication
Tell your artist about chronic illnesses, allergies, a tendency to faint and any medication you take (e.g. affecting blood clotting). Don’t stop taking medication on your own – if in doubt, consult a doctor. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, an infection or a fever are reasons to reschedule.
What not to do
- don’t come after a sleepless night,
- don’t get tattooed hungover or after drinking,
- don’t come with sunburnt or irritated skin.
Changing your appointment
You can reschedule no later than 3 days before the visit. If something comes up suddenly, let us know as soon as possible. The deposit is set individually; you can pay by BLIK or cash.
Book a consultation
Have an idea, or just a general direction? Message us: describe the design, placement and approximate size, and attach your inspirations. We’ll get back to you and suggest a consultation date.
